3rd, 4th and 5th Classes visited Moanvane Wind Farm yesterday at the kind invitation of Statkraft. Barry, Cormac, James and John gave the children a great tour around the wind farm. Barry gave the children a talk on Renewable energy and how wind farms can help fight climate change. Then the children put on hard hats and safety vests and went to see the turbines. They even went into a turbine in small groups with Cormac who showed them the lift, stairs and machinery inside! We had a glorious day for our trip and really enjoyed being out in Nature and seeing the forest and even a badger sett. They children were delighted to receive a goodie bag each and a gift of some gardening equipment for our school garden.
